FAQ LIPS
Lip blush is a form of cosmetic tattooing and can greatly enhance the beauty of natural lip colour, correct asymmetry, and add fullness and definition.
With the help of this treatment, it is possible to correct the fading colour of lips that is always associated with aging.
Results are customised for every client, therefore, you can be sure to achieve the desired effect.
TIP : Bring in your favorite lipstick or a picture on the day of your appointment!
Believe me - 8 out of 10 clients have no clue what colour they want ;)!
I strongly recommend only "natural" lip colors. You can always enhance or change the color of your lips at anytime with conventional makeup, if desired, for special occasions.
I have over 60 different shades which usually I mix together to achive bespoke colour for you!
Your lips will look slightly larger than normal and look as though you may have had a slight lip filler injection - and a lot of my clients love it althought it won't last for longer than few hours.
You lips will keep changing shade slightly during the healing process - which at some point is quite fascinating to watch.

Just remember...all procedures must HEAL, PEEL, FADE and SETTLE !
P.S - There is no need to take any time off from work!
I do not recommend ( examples of the reason why are below ) that any lip procedure be tattooed outside the "natural" lip line unless is for medical reasons (cleft lip/scarring) or to correct significant assymetry.
Optically they will always look fuller and more defined on the face but if you wish to have your lips twice as big - please look for lip filler injections first.
Lips are muscles and colour implanted into them vs the skin around them will result in a completely different shade - especially after some time.
Do not consume caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment to prevent excessive pain and bleeding.
Do NOT TAKE blood thinners such a Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure.
Avoid exercising the day of the procedure.Do not take or get any chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, vitamin E, retinols, fish oil, at least 4 weeks before your appointment
If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a new tan or a sunburn, you will need to reschedule and will forfeit your booking fee. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.
Drink plenty of water at least a week before the treatment
Moisturise your lips frequently for a week before the appointment - dry, ckracked lips won't let me implant the colour properly.
Exfoliate your lips with a mild scrub once a day for a week before the appoitment ( easy homemade recipe - 2 teaspoons of brown sugar mix with one teaspoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil)
If you have EVERhad chicken pox, a fever blister, or a cold sore, you MUST take Zovirax, Famvir, Aciclovir or other anti-viral pre and post procedure to help prevent the outbreak of cold sores.
There are NO exceptions to this rule! If you do have an outbreak, it will usually occur on the third (3rd) day following lip colour application.
This rule holds true for each and every time you have lip blush procedure done.
You will need to contact your GP in order to obtain your prescription strength anti-viral medication.
You will need to continue your anti-viral medication (if you are using one) until day 5 post treatment.

You must stay out of intense sunlight for 30 days post lip blush treatment.
Then, afterwards, it is recommended to wear an SPF over your lip tint to help prevent the color from fading prematurely.
Do not eat citrus fruits, salty or spicy foods until your lips are completely healed (about 10 days). It's not gonna be pleasant sensation trust me ;)
While eating, do not constantly wipe your lips with a napkin or keep licking your lips at this will impede the healing process.
DO NOT PICK dry healing tissue or you WILL remove the pigment color!
Before brushing your teeth, apply ointment over your lips first to act as a barrier against toothpaste from touching your new lip tint. Also, do not bleach your teeth while your lips are healing (about 10 days).
Keep your new lip blush well moisturised for a minimum of two (2) weeks or longer. Most recommended is Nivea LipBalm Original ( blue package), honey based lip balms.
After the intial healing period, you should apply a total sun block before sun exposure that is also waterproof 3-4 times daily to help prevent fading. Chapsticks with SPF is an excellent choice.
Yes, however, on the first session we will have to color correct your lips to cancel out the cool tones. This means the initial color we tattoo MUST be orange! If we are to tattoo any other color you risk darkening your lips further or having absolutely no results at all.
When healed at 6 weeks, most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have a nudey-pink even tone.
Note that results cannot be guaranteed and lightening or evening out dark lips may take a few sessions. Under no circumstances I will tattoo a "NUDE" color on dark or cool toned lips. If you are unsure if you have dark or cool toned lips you can send me a picture of your lips in natural light to confirm.
Lips too dark or thick will be rejected so please be sure to email pictures if your lips are extremely dark grey or black in color.
